Trump just said out loud that if the First Amendment didn't get in the way, he would ban Pride flags in Washington, D. C.
In a recent exchange at the White House, Brian Glenn, a correspondent for a right-wing outlet, suggested the progress pride flag is linked to terrorism and asked if Trump would consider having it taken down.
Instead of pushing back on this harmful rhetoric, Trump replied: "I would have no problem banning it. But the First Amendment, they'll sue you because of freedom of speech. "

Pride flags are not terrorist symbols!!!
They are powerful symbols of love, identity, visibility, and belonging. They represent the freedom for LGBTQ+ people to exist openly and proudly. When leaders equate Pride with terrorism they're attempting to erase and dehumanize the people behind it.
Free expression is a cornerstone of democracy, and Pride flags deserve to fly high.
